The Pathbreakers from River to Ocean

The Story of the Great West from the Time of Coronado to the Present
by Grace Raymond Hebard

This antique book features “Early Explorers,” “Fur Traders,” “The Great Trails,” “The Missions,” “Fremont’s Explorations,” “The Gold Discoveries,” “The Soldier and the Settler,” “Cows and Cowboys,” and “The Railroads.” Very interesting for the lover of the American West!

Rare book. Stated second edition. Published in Chicago by The Lakeside Press, 1912. Copyright 1911. Extensively illustrated with black and white photographs and four maps.

The cover is worn with scuffs and stains. There is some pulling/splitting between pages and binding is a little loose, with the hinges cracked. The blank endpages had some paper pasted to them and removed. The words, “You Can Get it at Fitch-smithers Co.,” are stamped there. A cute picture of Kewpie Dolls is pressed onto the black page.
